Féile na Seanbheairice 2013 – Arts and Cultural Festival

27th – 30th June 2013

Celebrating the unique culture of the Gaeltacht and the Cloughaneely Gaeltacht in particular, Féile na Seanbheairice promises to bring an eclectic mix of local and national performances to An t-Sean Bheairic.

Following the success of last year’s festival this year’s event features music, drama, singing, dancing and an array of other events, showcasing Gaelic culture alongside national and international acts.

The main events of Féile na Sean Bheairice are the Sean-nós competitions, in singing and dancing, which acknowledge the current vibrancy of sean-nós in Donegal.

Sean-nós dancing competition
Dancers will have the chance to compete for Corn na Seanbheairice, a cup that carries a lot of prestige for the overall winner of the competition.

Sean-nós singing competition
Singers will compete for “Corn Cuimhneacháin Éamonn Ghráinne” in memory of the renowned singer and musician Éamonn Ghráinne Mac Ruairí (Tory Island and Falcarragh). The singing competition promises to be a lovely evening for participants and audience alike.

Workshops will take place during the festival in sean nós dancing, sean nós singing and drama.
